SIDIT welcomes new Advisor, JP Kaumeyer

Media Release

Feb 20, 2017

Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust (SIDIT) welcomes new Advisor, JP Kaumeyer, to the Business Advisory Team.

The Southern Interior Development Initiative Trusts’ Business Advisory Services (BAS) initiative is growing again.  The program was launched to the general business public in September of 2016, with a core team of five high-profile Business Advisors, all located in Kelowna, BC.  The program is designed to offer Southern Interior business owners an affordable opportunity to collaborate with high-level executives, in a very practical hands-on manner, to grow their businesses.

“The Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust is pleased to welcome Mr. JP Kaumeyer, of Penticton, B.C., to our growing team of executive level advisors.  Having JP on board will enable us to expand our reach to include more small and mid-size businesses in the South Okanagan and the surrounding area,” says Ginny Becker, SIDIT BAS Program Manager.

JP, acting Chairman with Okanagan Hockey School, is a pragmatic, disciplined executive with a strong operational and financial focus directed towards creating real equity value in businesses that aspire to perform at a higher level. His experience as a private equity executive buying, expanding and selling mid-market businesses has provided him with significant insights into why firms experience constraints to their growth.

On joining the Business Advisory Team at SIDIT, JP had this to say: “I look forward to

working as a member of SIDIT’s Business Advisory team to further its objectives of supporting growing businesses in the Southern Interior of British Columbia.”

“As demand for the service grows, we have been looking for key individuals to join our advisory team throughout the Southern Interior Region, and we welcome JP to our Business Advisory Team” states Luanne Chore, SIDIT Chief Executive Officer.

About the Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust

The Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust was created by an Act of the BC Legislature in 2006. SIDIT received a one-time allocation of $50 million from the Province of BC designated for strategic investments in sustainable economic development initiatives throughout the southern interior of British Columbia.   The Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust Act mandates investment in ten areas of the economy.  These areas include Energy, Forestry, Mining, Olympic Opportunities, Agriculture, Transportation, Small Business, Tourism, Pine Beetle Recovery, and Economic Development. SIDIT is managed by an independent Board of Directors comprised of thirteen members – eight elected municipal officials and five BC Government appointees from the SIDIT Region.  SIDIT is focused on supporting economic development initiatives that will demonstrate long term measurable economic impact within the Southern Interior.
